All I have ever wanted to do was help people, so it was no surprise that I chose a medical profession. For nearly two decades, I worked in the medical field as a certified nursing assistant. I took care of the elderly in a dementia care facility and as a medical assistant and IV therapist. I worked in the imaging department at Boulder Community Hospital, this is where I discovered my love for anatomy. I worked as a phlebotomist delivering IV nutrients to the chronically ill and cancer patients as a medical assistant at a busy Oncology practice. I was the top aesthetic injector and trained physician to inject platelet rich plasma and dermal fillers. I also spent just over a decade managing a Urological Oncology Clinic, Holistic Practice and Medical Spa. It was a wonderfully rewarding job and I had an incredible opportunity to work with some of the most talented practitioners in the country. After a few years, I decided to follow my heart and find a different way to help people.
I have always been passionate about my education and continued studying and training under some of the best trainers in the world. It was while I was at Choices In Health that I received my Medical Terminology Certificate and IV Nutritional Therapy Certificate. While at Great Alchemy Med Spa, I earned my certification in Botox and Dermal Fillers through Empire Medical and Allergan. I also earned my Platelet Rich Plasma Certification from Dr. Charles Runels, the inventor of the Vampire procedures and then I had the privilege to work alongside Dr. Emilia Ripoll, one of the country’s elite trainers in Platelet Rich Plasma procedures and one of the most brilliant physicians I have ever had the privilege to work with.
Yet, I wanted to continue to study, and find more ways to help people. I wanted to help women feel beautiful and regain their confidence, so I studied at School of Botanical and Medical Aesthetics to obtain my Esthetician License and shortly after I became certified in permanent cosmetics and then received additional training in 3D areola pigmentation. I am a member of the Associated Skin Care Professionals, the largest and most recognized network of skin care professionals. Shortly after that, I embarked on my greatest journey yet. I started my medical spa, J Marie Skin Studio. It has been the best decisions I have ever made. While it is important to address the cosmetic issues like fine lines and wrinkles, it is equally as important to address the overall health of the skin. I use a blend of medical and botanical aesthetics to help people feel beautiful again and get the skin back to health. I have been able to hone my skills by performing facials, chemical peels, micro-needling, permanent makeup artistry, body treatments, platelet rich plasma, dermaplaning, Hydrafacial, microdermabrasion, botox, dermal fillers, along with other skin care treatments. Additionally, I also wanted to give my clients a sense of security knowing that I can act appropriately in the event of an adverse reaction, so I completed the EMT program at Front Range Community College.
I work with each individual to come up with a unique healthy skin care regimen that they can easily maintain at home and keep their skin glowing and beautiful. I attribute my success to my perseverance, dedication to continue my education, and my passion to help women and men find their confidence in their own skin.
Currently, I am working towards becoming an educator in my industry. I mentor new estheticians and teach, train and develop their skill set. The J Marie Skin Studio team is composed of like-minded individuals who value community. It is my goal to continue to help different organizations and charities in my community.
When I am not at the studio or at an event, I am with my feet in the sand. I love to travel. I have visited Costa Rica, Jamaica, Several places in Mexico and throughout the United States. I enjoy parasailing, jet skiing, white water rafting and boating. I have a fierce love for my family, friends and my community.
